School Reforms Program

Adopt-A-School Program / School Reforms Program

They say that one's school days are the best days of your life. Unfortunately, not all schools rise up to that ideal. At IDF, we want schools to not only be the platforms for our children to have the best times of their lives but also a place where they can learn, become people with values, who can go on to dream and transform the world they live in.

This program was started in 2008 with a vision to provide quality education to children from rural and urban government schools by adopting these schools. We also aim to develop these government schools into Model Schools so that they are on par with the best run schools in the area in terms of infrastructure, academic performance and healthy environment in line with the Millennium Development Goals. Presently we have adopted 5 government schools located in the urban and rural slums of Agra.

IDF collaborates with government schools to reform and transform them from a dysfunctional system into temples of learning and motivation, creating an environment where dreams can be born.

Government run / municipality schools, especially in the rural areas, suffer from a lack of funds, infrastructure, number & quality of teachers, water & sanitation facilities to say the very least. IDF identifies these schools and works together with them to set-up and improve the infrastructure, conduct teacher training, collaborate with the government authorities to start the mid-day meal scheme, provide books and teaching equipment. This how IDF adopts various schools in and around Agra and works towards its mission of Education for All!
