Global Head – Strategy and Communication
Vernika heads the strategy and communications group at IDF. She manages several internal teams to achieve and optimize strategic goals. Her main areas of focus are marketing, branding, collaboration, social media, fundraising, knowledge creation and knowledge sharing. Her background includes over 7 years of experience across various industries (IT, outsourcing, events consulting etc) with expertise in marketing communications and relationship management. She holds a Master in International Business degree from Grenoble Graduate School of Business, London and a Bachelor of Arts from D.G. Ruparel College, Mumbai.
Akhila first volunteered with IDF via the UN Online Volunteering website as part of a website re-designing project. Since then, she has continued to aid in content development for IDF's various campaigns. She is currently studying BSc Nanotechnology at the University of Leeds, but has worked with various NGOs globally engaging in enabling access to education, empowering youth, encouraging sustainability, inspiring children to pursue science, and advocating gender equality for the past five years.
